Château Nointel
95590 NOINTEL
In 1679, Jean 1st of Turmenyes, Knight of the Realm and Royal Treasurer, bought the domain, although he had already appointed an architect and a “gardener” to build and design a château and garden “à la française” as early on as 1675. The architect was Mansart, a man who marked his century and to whom we owe the chapel and dome of Les Invalides, La Place Vendôme and La Place des Victoires in Paris, the extension of the château of Versailles and Le Grand Trianon. The “gardener” was Le Notre, famous for his geometrical garden designs and ornamental lakes and fountains. The statues you can find in the parc of Nointel were sculpted by Antoine Coysevox. Like Mansart and Le Nôtre, he was commissioned by King Louis XIV himself. Nointel, a work of art framed by the beauty of nature.
