The château features an enfilade of intimate drawing-rooms, including a library that is entirely finished in wood and a large formal room decorated with red brick and wood, as well as a massive fireplace. In the right wing, two of the three drawing-rooms actually form a single room separated by a dual-hearth fireplace the top of which is glazed allowing one to see from one room to the other. These drawing-rooms had the reputation of being literary lounges, places of inspiration and home to the numerous works of Lully, Perrault, Flaubert, Mérimée, Maupassant, Chopin and Ravel.
